Beset by corruption inquiries, religious fanaticism, factionalism and imported culture wars, the Liberals remain determined to repeat the mistakes that drove voters away in the first place.
I think David’s perspective as a historian has been invaluable in the last year relative to the Liberal’s devastating defeat. Like the UAP they’ve been discredited.
And even with their ‘star’ moderate in Andrew Bragg who said this week that Australians should accept ‘substandard’ housing, you get a sense of the contempt the Liberals have for the public. Not even a peep about mass produced prefabricated public housing or even supporting the tiny home movement for singles.

AUKUS be explained ? AUKUS is an attack upon our sovereignty and democracy itself . As to the remains of the Liberal Party , the next election will prove very interesting , remembering that John Howard lost his own seat …..
The Libs & Nats stopped making policy from time of Howard's PM'ship to follow imported US Atlas Koch (IPA, CIS etc) Network's 'segregation economics' of James Buchanan.

Elections are won from the centre, not the fringes, so the closer the Liberals move towards the One Nation extreme right, the less chance they have of winning.
The centre is now dominated by Labor and the Independents in former urban Liberal seats.
Albanese has been cautious, but he did go for negative gearing/CGT reform.
If necessary, Labor can pass legislation in the Senate with Greens support, which is a firm 12% of votes.
So the Liberals have made themselves irrelevant.
They dumped Susan Ley as leader because she wanted to return to the centre.
Angus Taylor is merely continuing that mistake. They are shrinking before our eyes.
