I don’t think we’ve done any of that Labor Party boosting, because they’re totally undeserving of that. We don’t boost anyone, call out the garbage when we see it, irrespective of where it comes from.
“Difficult choices” 🙄. I see no sign of the smallest “difficulty” is cutting support for NDIS clients , whose quality of life , and/or
basic human rights depend on it . No difficulty at all for this government to toss away our sovereignty in grovelling to the demands of both America and Israel , as they devote millions of taxpayer funds to these foreign entities . No difficulty at all in supporting the revenue of gambling corporations against the interest and welfare of children who watch or play sport . Just a few examples from a long list of, which demonstrates the contempt for the public interest shown by this spineless government . They appear to have
forgotten that they were elected to serve the public. Instead , they are serving themselves , and of course their corporate donors .
And they want respect ??? ( And don’t start me on data centres !!! 😡😡😡😡 . An act of aggression against the nation and its people in itself . )
Perhaps these right wing Parties (the Liberals, Nationals, One Nation, Palmer United, Libertarians, and Family First) are working mostly together (and together with corporatist and client media) to produce contrived, distraction news (similar to those contrived dramatic celebrity breakups that never last long) to fill media with distractions for audiences who prefer silly drama to actually making an effort to learn about the policy they exist to serve. Perhaps these hope to discourage voters from researching better political options than their rancid Imperialist Neoliberalism.
As I recall, these parties deliberately & systematically preferenced each other highly in the last meaningful poll, the 2025 election. It seems more likely than not that these Parties have every intention of preferencing each other highly next election, and are essentially faking a dog and pony show to distract voters from calling out their war crime complicity, their criminally excessive pollution, and their systematic funneling of public wealth away from those who need it, and towards those overly privileged oligarchs who bribe them.
So center right Labor want to add a rancid pork-barrelling barbecue flavor
to their war crime complicity dog scat flavor? I guess they can't taste much worse.
But I don't see many buying Authoritarian Liquidation Pigs brand at their local democracy purveyor, where better options exist, and when falling living standards from decades of duopoly Neoliberalism immiseration are increasingly difficult to deny.

The ALP machine which knows it can achieve a majority with 32.6% of the vote, and ‘supermajority’ with 34.6% feels untouchable. As noted in your book Fixing Australian politics, proportional representation would be a major step forward to increasing scrutiny.
