Why the Liberal Party rebranding won’t solve its political problems, the teals risk becoming the establishment they opposed, and nostalgia politics is beginning to run out of road.

In terms of "least worst options", I've already started wondering how I can vote below the line in a considered way. PHON definitely last, probably preceded by the Tories - sorry Libs. Then where? ALP pretty close to next but how do can I rank independents when half of them don't put any information out? Hardly informing voters of where they stand. Makes it a toss up between Greens and Independents of the non-Zali-Allegra (Libs in disguise) and non-Pauline persuasians.
Let's hope things improve between now and the next election, but I'm not holding my breath.
The decline of the Liberal Party has been, from my perspective, a self inflicted wound. With the rise of the ‘Dries’ in the 1990s and the subsequent push to remove the ‘Wets’. It has been a twenty year destruction of the Liberal Party from within. What astounds me is that even today the Right is blissful unaware of their role in the decline and destruction of the once great Liberal Party.
Leopards do NOT change their spots , especially after John Howard worked so hard to make those spots impossible to remove ,
as the present cost of living demonstrates on so many levels . Leopards who might have had paler “spots” or some small concept of decency and humanity have been removed , one way or another . Some have left of their own accord .
The Labor party is suffering from the same “Power before the public interest” disease , which is splitting it apart . ( I’m ancient enough to remember a former split , when the “DLP” split from Labor ). Grovelling to foreign states will not end well , especially for the Australian public who need to arise from their apathetic slumbers .

Disturbingly correct in every detail . I faced the same problem when voting at the last election . Start from the worst of the worst,
and work through to the “barely tolerable “. A heap of whom I wouldn’t feed .
